The only natural glue made from renewable resources. Compostable and earthworm-friendly.
Green-tinted caterpillar glue for direct application to tree trunks, for treating sticky bands, and – with caterpillar glue band paper – for making your own sticky bands. The green color protects beneficial insects.
Tested by the Lower Saxony Forest Research Institute, the Offenburg Office for Agriculture, and fruit growers.
Brunonia caterpillar glue is a creeping glue . It only traps insects that crawl into it . Others (e.g., beneficial insects) escape. Unlike adhesive glues, it prevents insects from bridging the gap between the glue and leaves (100% trapping efficiency).
For controlling crawling insects:
- Winter moth (Operophtera brumata) – an important fruit pest
- Ants (Lasius sp.) protect aphids
- Blood lice (Eriosoma lanigerum) – cause blood cancer, reduce frost hardiness
- Hazelnut bud borer (Curculio nucum) – high crop losses
- Bark beetles (Xyleborus dispar) – on many trees
- Snow moth (Apocheima pilosaria) – on deciduous trees/fruit
- Black cherry aphid (Myzus cerasi, M. prunavium) – reduces initial infestation
Effective on the tree: approx. 6 months. Opened can: usable for 5-6 years.
The glue weathers after 6 months (depending on weather conditions), dries out, and is partially absorbed. Sprinkle the remaining glue with sand, then scrape it off.
Gardener’s tip:
Ants find it easier to walk over – glue ring at least 10 cm high, 2 mm thick.
