The production of the suitcase shells from old, used suitcases sets new standards in the circular economy. Furthermore, the suitcase is durable and offers no compromise on quality. Thanks to its lightweight design, the innovative 3-point locking system, and its unique packing solution, you can travel carefree. Enjoy features you won’t want to be without on your trip: a 3-point locking system with TSA lock, suspension wheels to reduce noise and vibration, a double pull handle for easy maneuvering, an interior with removable and washable packing solution, an integrated name tag, and numerous personalization options. Easy DIY repair: Elements such as the pull handle, wheels, and locks are designed so that they can be easily reordered as spare parts and repaired or replaced yourself. Repairability

Since 1976, we have been offering comprehensive repair services and continuously optimizing the repairability of our products. Even during product development, we place great emphasis on the use of standardized components that can be easily replaced as spare parts. Our product warranties, which cover defects in materials and workmanship, offer additional security.

ESSENCE CIRCULAR

For this special series, we collected old pieces of luggage and disassembled them into their individual components. This also included used items that customers had donated to our locations. After disassembly, the hard shells were shredded and mixed with other recycled materials to create new suitcase shells.

In 2024, approximately 47% of Samsonite’s net sales came from products that partially contained recycled materials. While we have long been using recycled materials for interior linings, the number of models that also contain recycled materials in other key components, such as the outer shell or telescopic handles, is continuously increasing. In 2024, the proportion of integrated recycled material was up to 75%, depending on the product weight.

Sustainable materials

Since 2018, we’ve been steadily expanding the use of recycled raw materials in the production of our collections. Recycled plastic (rPET) from used water bottles, recycled polypropylene from household waste such as yogurt cups, and post-consumer aluminum from airplanes or beverage cans are being used. These materials are being used in an ever-increasing proportion across all collections.
