Window and door contact – optical (V2) Smart home accessory

Within the Homematic IP system, this small sensor performs several functions. Firstly, it automatically reduces heat supply when ventilating by notifying the Homematic IP radiator thermostat as soon as a window or exterior door is opened. A particularly useful feature is the ability to define a notification delay for frequently used doors, preventing the radiator valves from being constantly opened and closed. Secondly, the sensor reliably monitors access to your home when you are away. With alarm mode activated, the Homematic IP siren can be triggered if a window is opened without authorization. The app also sends a warning message to the user via push notification, giving them the opportunity to react promptly to the hazardous situation.

The small, 30-gram sensor is so efficient that it operates for approximately two years on a single AAA battery. The Homematic IP app will notify the user when the battery is running low. The sensor’s light weight allows for reliable mounting using double-sided adhesive tape, which is included along with an additional brown cover cap and a reflective film. If the window or door material does not permit adhesive mounting, the two included tiny screws can be used.
