Sun sails are quick to install and can be removed at any time. Once the anchors are in place, a sun sail in a different color can be easily installed. The coated polyester fabric (180 g/m²) of the CANNES sun sail is wind and water-repellent, effectively extending your living space with a cozy outdoor area during the warmer months. The UV protection rating of 50+ offers very high protection against harmful UV radiation and is roughly equivalent to the SPF of sunscreen – perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather safely. The reinforced hems are particularly important for a sun sail, as they ensure a secure hold and prevent the sides from tearing, even in windy conditions. Finding the right sun sail: 1. Observe the sun’s path beforehand. It’s best to choose a sail larger than the area you want to shade. 2. The size and shape of the sun sail should adequately cover the area – various sizes and shapes are available: triangular, square, or rectangular. 3. Keep in mind that the sun sail should have a slope of at least 15° and use the lowest attachment point as a starting point. Installation: The basic requirement is that the sun sail is anchored at all corners. Anchoring elements such as a sun sail mast, wall mounting eyelet, eye bolt for posts, etc., are used for this purpose. The sun sail is then attached to the anchoring element using connecting elements (rope, D-shackle, carabiner, tension anchor, bungee cord, tension spring). It is important to consider the necessary slope from the outset and to install the initial fixings high enough. The 15° slope (approx. 15 cm per meter) ensures that rainwater does not collect on the sail but can run off.
