  • The waterproofing membrane allows for bonded waterproofing with tiles and slabs in damp rooms. The fleece-backed membrane offers high tear and puncture resistance.
  • Flexible, crack-bridging, high-quality material, easy to work with, chemical-resistant. The waterproof sealing membrane is made of high-quality modified material.
  • Polyethylene material coated on both sides with a special polypropylene nonwoven fabric.
  • With the help of the sealing membrane, reliable sealing is possible in indoor areas, especially in wet areas such as bathrooms, showers and kitchens.
  • Outdoor use – The decoupling membrane can also be effectively used outdoors for terraces, balconies and other purposes.
IsolBau sealing membrane 6 x 30 m² roll (30 m long x 1 m wide)IsolBau sealing membrane is an MPA-certified, waterproof, vapor-retardant, tear-resistant trilaminate membrane in blue, made of high-quality, modified polyethylene, coated on both sides with a special polypropylene nonwoven fabric, offering excellent adhesion and suitable for all liquid sealants and tile adhesives. It is ideal for sealing joints under ceramic coverings in wet areas such as bathrooms, toilets, showers, and utility rooms, as well as in outdoor areas like patios and balconies. This is essential – in bathrooms and kitchens, whether during renovation or new construction, our IsolBau sealing membrane reduces the risk of water damage for both interior and exterior use.

Surfaces:

Suitable substrates include all cement screeds (heated or unheated) that are bonded to the floor or floating, as well as other suitably firm and load-bearing substrates such as: ceramic masonry elements, aerated concrete, cement and gypsum plasters, reinforced concrete, gypsum plasterboard, fiber gypsum boards, OSB boards, gypsum blocks, etc.
The substrate must be firm, level, clean, free of dust and grease, and free of old paint layers or fine particles that could impair product adhesion. Pretreat the substrate with an appropriate product. Remove any dirt and non-load-bearing layers and replace them with a suitable material.

Processing:

Cut the waterproofing membrane to the required size using a knife or scissors. Take all expansion joints and pipe penetrations into account. Apply the adhesive to the substrate using a notched trowel. Then, fully embed the cut waterproofing membrane into the fresh adhesive bed and press it firmly onto the substrate using a roller or smoothing trowel. Apply (press down) the waterproofing membrane so that the underside remains free of air bubbles. At the joints, the individual waterproofing membranes are either overlapped or butted together. “Butted together” means the waterproofing membrane is installed so that its edges meet. In the joint area between the membranes, the sealing tape is bonded using sealing slurry, ensuring it adheres precisely across the entire surface. The surface should be pressed down from above with a soft roller, spatula, or trowel and then finished with sealant. Ensure a precise bond between the sealing tape and the waterproofing membrane. Use inside and outside corners. Wall collars or floor collars are installed at pipe penetrations.
