This type of bicycle, with its curved frame and balloon tires, originated in the USA and has recently enjoyed a resurgence in popularity. The beach cruiser isn’t a sports bike: as the name suggests, these bikes are primarily designed for leisurely cruising. Comfort and aesthetics are paramount, reflected in the frame shapes and vibrant colors. A beach cruiser is an exceptional bicycle for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and simply enjoy cycling.

A beach cruiser has a swept-back, so-called moon handlebar, which allows for an upright and comfortable riding position. These bicycles also feature a sprung saddle. Combined with the balloon tires, this creates a cushioning effect that isolates you from uneven surfaces. 

The Malibu is no exception. As befits a proper beach bike, it’s equipped with a 690 mm wide chrome-plated aluminum moon handlebar in the typical shape. It also features a classic steel frame with a subtle design, available in gray, white, or light blue. The floral design continues on the chain guard, saddle, and even the grips. 

With six gears, the Malibu is exceptionally well-equipped compared to other beach cruisers. The proven Shimano Tourney derailleur performs the shifts with its usual precision and smoothness, which you control with the Shimano RevoShift twist shifter. This wide range of gear options means you’ll have no trouble getting around town or on longer trips. 

With the powerful V-brakes that grip both the front and rear wheels, you can continuously adapt your driving style to the conditions. 

The 2.125-inch wide tires with their city tread aren’t just for paved roads. Traditionally, beach cruisers were also ridden on the sand, so the Malibu handles unpaved paths with ease. The color scheme is echoed on the lightweight aluminum rims, adding further splashes of color. The retro-style fenders are also brightly colored.
