FAQ
Q1: Which power stations are compatible with the Charger 2? Can it charge third-party power stations?
A1: The Charger 2 is compatible with all BLUETTI power stations and most third-party power stations that use MC4 connectors for solar charging. However, some third-party power stations may have unstable charging rates.
Q2: The Charger 2 can draw up to 800W from the alternator and up to 600W from the solar panel. What is the charging strategy for a constant power output of 1200W?
A2: The total charging power is limited to 1200W. Solar input always takes priority; the remainder is supplied by the vehicle’s starter battery and, if necessary, by the BLUETTI auxiliary battery for stationary operation.
Here’s how it works:
• If the solar panels deliver 600W, the starter battery delivers 600W.
• If the solar panels deliver 400W, the starter battery delivers 800W.
• If the solar panels deliver 200W, the starter battery delivers 800W, and the remaining 200W comes from the auxiliary park battery to complete the 1200W charge.
Q3: Which vehicle battery can power the Charger 2?
A3: The Charger 2 works with standard 12V or 24V car batteries, or with two 12V batteries connected in series.
Q4: Do I need to adjust the Charger 2 for different power stations?
A4: Yes, after activating the Charger 2, adjust the charging voltage to your power station’s specifications using the BLUETTI app.
1. For smaller power stations (such as AC2A, EB3A, EB55, EB70S, AC60, and AC50B), use the default setting (28V).
2. For larger power stations (such as AC70, AC180, AC180T, Elite 100 V2, Elite 200 V2, Elite 300, Elite 400, AC200MAX, AC200L, AC240, Apex 300, AC300, and AC500), set a higher voltage.
Q5: What is Auto-Connect, and does it work with all BLUETTI models?
A5: Auto-Connect automatically adjusts the Charger 2’s output voltage to match your power station. It works with most BLUETTI models, except for the AC200MAX, which requires manual voltage adjustment.
Q6: Why can’t I use an extension cable between the Power Station (CHG) and the Extension Battery (BAT)?
A6: This creates a current loop between the power station and the extension battery, which can lead to system malfunctions.
Q7: Will Charger 2 damage my car battery or reduce its lifespan?
Q7: No, Charger 2 adjusts its power output to protect your car battery. If the voltage is too low, it reduces the power; if it’s too high, it increases the power. It stops charging if the voltage drops too low (12V/26V). With proper care, it will not harm your car battery.
Q8: Can I use my DC hub with Charger 2?
A8: Yes, you can, however, it will lack the interactive features of Charger 2 and will only function as a basic DC power distributor.

For 12 V cars: Power on at 12.5 V, start charging at 12.6 V, stop charging below 12.0 V.
For 24 V cars: Power on at 25.0 V, start charging at 25.2 V, stop charging above 26.0 V.
Q12: Why is there no power input when using a non-BLUETTI power station, even with solar power connected?
A12: Some third-party power stations may experience power fluctuations or charging issues. Adding a BLUETTI auxiliary battery can resolve this issue.
Q13: Is the D+ signal cable included? And how should it be connected?
A13: The D+ signal cable is sold separately. It has a 2-pin connector with a 5.08 mm pitch and 24 AWG wire. See the Charger 2 support video for wiring details.
Q14: Why does my power station blink when I connect it for the first time via smart detection? Is this normal?
A14: Yes. When you connect the power station, the Charger 2 briefly sends power for verification. This can cause a brief blink, but within seconds the device will be recognized and everything will work perfectly.
Q15: When should I use the reverse charging function?
A15: Reverse charging has three modes for different situations:
1. Emergency Jump Start: Quickly recharges a dead or weak car battery so you can start the engine.
2. Maintenance Charge: Continuously provides your battery with a small amount of charge to maintain it over the long term.
3. Pulse Maintenance: Uses controlled pulses to reduce battery sulfation, improve recovery, and extend battery life.
Q16: When should I use the Pulse Maintenance mode and for how long?
Q16: Use the pulse maintenance mode if the vehicle’s starter battery has not been used for an extended period or is in a state of deep discharge. Each session should last approximately 30 minutes.
Q17: How can I keep the DC Hub running even when the engine is off?
A17: Connect a battery to the BAT port to power the DC Hub even when the engine is off. Solar power is not always stable.
Q18: Can I use Charger 2 for hybrid or electric vehicles (EVs)?
A18: Charger 2 works with hybrid vehicles, which have both a starter battery and an alternator. Due to their different battery and charging systems, it does not support electric vehicles.
Q19: Will Charger 2 drain my car battery? Do I need to turn it off manually?
A19: No, Charger 2 automatically stops drawing power from the car battery 3–6 seconds after the engine is turned off, preventing battery discharge. While the engine is running, it remains active and can be controlled via the BLUETTI app, allowing you to start and stop charging as needed. The new D+ signal also ensures seamless operation with smart alternators.
Q20: Why isn’t the emergency jump start working?
A20: The emergency jump start only works if your starter battery voltage is below 12.6V. If the battery voltage is above this, the jump start will not activate.
